look alike?

bahaha. cary will kill me for this. but here we go.

cart - short film.

i don't know why but when i'm on the internet, i like to watch boring videos as long as they are "sharp." not to say that this short film i'm posting is "boring," but i really appreciate sharp and raw images that jumps out to you. here's a short film i found on vimeo's hd channel.
while i can't explain what i find this video different or special, i like the color and how the footage has undergone no special effects. maybe videos these days are too heavily edited with special effects? or are we looking at a phenomenon which i find in mostly film photography when lame out-of-focused 35 mm shots are "cool & artsy" when its just because everyone is tired of digital photography?
take a look...

will this be me in three days?

for sophie.

here's a little shining for you.

sweet packaging.

i love swedish design.

draw on me?

wanna get one for me?

food for thought?

so everyone knows i like design. industrial design, car design, architecture, installations, but....food design?

hmm. my sister luzette came across this in the internet and i find this pretty amazing. marije vogelzang, a self-proclaimed "eating design" has created several installments of food with volunteers sitting down and eating as her piece.

taking things into the literal sense, vogelzang has even created what she called "symphonies in people's mouthes" by drum beating on the table and encouraging her participants to "eat" by the beat.

white funeral? - all the food in this meal are white creating a sense of serenity and peacefulness.:

a picture of the different installments to her exhibit:

Here's an interview with marije vogelzang.

WOoO

.first.entry? ahh

so this is my first blog entry. i figured i'd just jump on the "study abroad" blog bandwagon. for those of you that are reading and knows me, you'd probably think that i'll never update this or stop it by november since i have no attention span. but i think i'm going to go ahead and update this thing as often as i can.

in this blog, i want to "blog" about pretty much anything i can instead of just my "vie" in paris. since i'm not going to the amazon or doing anything crazy in tibet, you guys might just get bored about learning about my escapades eating foie gras or finding the first editions of jane birkin lps.

and yes people, i did name this blog after one of my favorite birkin hits. nothing ironic, i just love jane.

eh, perhaps i'll just end here. i might come up with something and add some stuff later.

bye.

*note to chloe - your job is to find my grammatical errors and post them in the comments section. well, i think you'll do it anyways. debbie.
